Hbp students supposed was the last batch to this program. Because of some reason I applied to become second batch. I joined earlier. So, I did not know that we should take photos and do documentation.....I did not have any photos of this program....

First day....
-We gathered at DUP at 9am.
-After some briefing we departed with university bus.
-The place I went was Camp Cinta Alam, Sungai Siput, Perak.
-We reached there about 12 noon.
-We had our lunch there.
-After our lunch, we gathered at the field.
-The commander briefed us some rules and regulations.
-We divided into 3 major groups. In the 3 major groups we divided into 10 or 11 small groups.
- We started our activity by built up the tent and had our dinner after that.
-At night, we had some activities for 'ice breaking'.
- We went to rest after the activities.

2nd day...
-About 2am we were woke up by the sound of the siren. Everybody was so annoyed because we were just fell asleep.
-The bad news we had to go to jungle trekking.
- The road was so tough. We had to climbed and went inside the jungle.. We were exhausted...
We finished our jungle trekking at about 5 am...
- We rested in our tent before the activities start.
-We woke again at 6am to attend the moral class and had our breakfast.
-After that, there were have some games to us. Aim to integrated all the races.
-At night, we had a talk for the malaysia program---1 Malaysia.
-We had the last performances.....

Third day...
-After the breakfast we started to packed our things and kept all the tents.
-There was a brief from our commander.
-Our program was finished at about 12 noon.

-Went to see our site listened to the instruction.

-There are five cubes which must have shadow and shade.

-The cubes are transparent which we can see the sarong.

THE MASK

To do the mask, we need a partner to help each other to nip on the face. So, I partner with my room mate Shan Phei. We were going to help each other to do the mask.

This was the shape of my face. Hopefully the mask I do will exactly like my face.

There were the materials I used to do my mask. The main material was the clay. I choosed clay because It was more easier to nip on my face. Then, I started to do my mask using the clay.

After finished to use the clay made the shape of my face, I let the clay aside to let it became hard.

After the clay became hard, I used the tissue paper to pasted on the surface of my clay. The tissue papers and glue that I used were a lot. After that, I was prepared to colour it which was looked like my skin colour tone.

Lastly, after I coloured, this was the mask I did just now.

Existence

We, human got mind and soul. We are exist if we think. God and lord that we admire created us and our planet. We have given life, mind and soul. We are exist because human use their mind start to think. We use the natural resources given by the lord and god to create something to make renaissance. Years by years, everything changed from the ancient time to cyber world. Although we are nothing from the side of the galaxy but we exist to live at the planet--earth. We have leader to control the world, have our own border, live peacefully in our own country. The existence of animals, plants and human are to exchange with each others. This is because no exchange no existence.

And I have not created jinn and men except that they should serve me.

My big bang

BIG BANG

In the afternoon, we were in the session called my big bang. It was a session that our senior came to give us some talks and their experiences. They informed us that there will be a orientation for the new students. We will have games to play and a grand dinner too. So that, we can get to know our seniors and they will give the information to us.

We were asked for payment. We were sitting and waiting to pay. The payment was includes t-shirt fees and orientation.

Time: 5.30pm
Place: Stadium

We were gathered in front of the HBP but moved to the stadium after that. We were going to the stadium to watch futsal match between the seniors and juniors. As we reached there, they all started to prepare themselves. The guys started the game first. Then followed by the girls. We were just watching and cheering all that time. .
At last, the match was won by the seniors..

This was the girl team which was 'fight' with the seniors.

Time: 2.30pm
Place: E48B

At 2.30pm, we were gathered at the E48B for the open ceremony. The ceremony was started at 3pm. There was a welcome speech from our Dean and Mr.A ldrian. I was so impressed of ours Dean speech. He mentioned that 5B and 2P. That was image building, self building, team building ,capacity building, problem solving and future planning. Then we will have our b right future..

Place: Dataran Merah

After the explanation, we were informed that should be gathered at Dataran Merah. We were gathered with our group members. Me, is the group number 1. We have 10 members in each group. Th ere was 1 facilitator guided us. So, started the first activity that was 'ice breaking'.

We were given an order to name a group name, create a cheers and do a sculpture. We sat in our group and started our 'mission'. So we divided the group members to complete the 'mission'.

Some were thinking the group name. Some were creating the cheers and doing the sculpture. The time was so rushed. We were just given about 40 minutes to do all the

'mission'. Finally, We were completed our 'mission'. Our group name was 'sky scrawler' and our cheers. After that, each group was going to present in fro nt

of the seniors. We were given marks according to our presentation. . The activity w as ended at 12 in the midnight......

Time: 10am
Place: Dataran Merah

We were gathered at Dataran Merah early in the morning.Some of us were so sleepy and tired. As we gathered at there w e were given the second 'mission' for us to complete. We were given an egg. They need us to throw the egg from third floor. So, we have to build a structure that can protect the
egg from broken. The materials they given to us
were some newspaper and straws.
We were warned that not to use
our own materials. So we started to build our
structure. At first, we were going to do a parachute but our parachute was too small and our burden was too heavy.
So, we decided to try an alternative way. First, we used the straws to create a basket to put the egg inside. Then, we used the newspaper to squeezed it until it became circle. We used the papers that we squeezed to stick around the
basket. It became like a ball. The

egg was protected by the papers.
Each group had created their
structure too. We were going to throw the egg after our lunch.

Finally the time was reached. Each group sent a volunteer to go upstairs to throw the e g g. Our group leader was responsible to do that and of course we were the group number 1 so we had to start the activity first. Everyone cheers for their groups. 1,2,3 throw... A big s sound like the egg was broken. I was so nervous. Other members were going to check the egg.
I thought the egg was broken but luckily they still can take out the egg from
the structure. Hooray!!! The structure can protected the egg. We were so excited. After that, was tried by the other group. Some groups succeed to protect their egg and there were two groups did not success.

The activity ended up after the all the groups completed the mission.

Place: Dataran Merah

There was raining cats and dogs at night. So, there was just a little group members who were attended the activity. We were combined two groups into one group. So that our group memb ers became more. The activity we need to complete that night was Explore Race. We need to face the challenge in order to get the clue to go the next station. We were painted our face by the seniors, crawling the 'flour' floor, dancing, singing, and acting. Our shirts were all became dirty and wet because of the rain. Some stations were challenging the mind, some were just for playing and some were just for talking. After all the hardship, we finally finished the 8 stations. After that we were just sitting and waiting the other groups to complete. We were thirsty, hungry and cold after that games. We went back to our desa after some briefing for the activity of tomorrow.

That nigh t was a horrible night for me. My friends and I had to walked back to RST in a rainy day. We were all wet cold and tired.....The activity was ended with a horrible experience....

At the next day, we had a discussion to what to perform at the night. We decided to sing song. Each of the group member will have to sing a song. Some were sang alone, some were sang in a group. As for me, I sang in a group of four. We were perform our song in Chinese. We went back to our desa after the discussion.

Place: Dataran Merah

At the night, Dataran Merah was decorated with candles and beautiful background by our seniors. Some of the seniors started to set up a fire. They had prepared a BBQ to us. The programmed started with the speech from Mr.Aldrian. We were had to wear our mask. Everybody looked so different. After that, we were going to enjoy our dinner. It was a delicious meal and of course the chicken. While we were enjoying our dinner, some groups were going to perform their performance. Luckily, our group was the group number 5 to perform. So I still had time to have my dinner first. We enjoying the performance while eating our meal. There was a performance from the seniors too but I do not had a chance to watch it because after that was our time to perform rm. We prepared at the back stage. Our performance was started with a malay dancing and singing. After that follow by the Chinese song, English song and solo from Ilman. He was singing and playing the guitar. He was a good singer too. We were singing together w with him.. Our performance was ended up with a big clap. After that, was the performance from the other groups. A guy sang the Thailand rock song was impressed me. Then, there was a prizes giving for the explore race and the performances. Besides that, there was a programme to choose a queen and king of the first year student. After that, they had to dance at the end of the programmed. Finally, the big bang ended up after their dance...

What I read today.....06/07/09

In 06/07/09, the first lecture I attended was Reading and Documenting..

At first our lecturer Encik Wan showed us the definition of reading. That was too much and I cannot remembered it all. So I went to search the definition of reading in wikipedia. Reading is a complex cognitive process of decoding symbols for the intention of deriving meaning and/ or constructing meaning. We read to understand text, image and words.

The objective of RUS 101 is intention. Once we have intention we have to act it. Actions are learn, do, acquire, get, equipped with basic tools. We just can participate in the development of the built environment once we get the basic tools.

Tools to
1) Document (text and image)
Text and images let us can read through the passage so we can know what the author want to give that message to us.

2)Communicate (text, images, models,presentation,argument,show,exhibition and negotiate)
Communicate is a sender want to send a message. He or she will encode the message into the symbols that the receiver know. The receiver will decode the symbols. Effective communication will occur.

3)Design (prototype,spaces,events and happening.)

4)Construct a page which is in history. We should create our own page with our own idea.
Our lecturer mention 1 important word that was plagiarism. We were warned to avoid plagiarism because it is a crime. We do have our own idea to produce a product. According to the indiana university plagiarism is using other's idea without clearly acknowledging the source of that information. So, to construct a page and product the idea must produce from our own idea and not copy other's idea. So that, we have a page in history that we create ourselves.

5)Serve bottom billion, top ten
Our lecturer told us either we want to serve bottom billion or top ten. Just like Michael Jackson, he is a super star. He is serving top ten. Many people admiring him. While serve the bottom billion is like unemployed people. They do not do anything and just waiting people to feed them. They are kind of useless people.

There are six elements of production

-Intention
-Actor
-Act
-Rule
-Product
-Site

Intention - according the webster online dictionary, is a determination to act in a certain way. So, in order to create a product we must have intention. Intention may be produce from the theory and of course our knowledge. Once we have intention, we have to act to produce a product.

Actor-Actor is a person who want to do something. For an example, an engineer have an intention to built a bridge. He or she is an actor who want to built that bridge.

Act- Act is an action we take to apply with intention. Although we have intention but without act, we cannot produce any product. Act is like designing, surveying and building.

Rule- Rule is a regulation governing or conduct an action, procedure and arrangement (source: dictionary.reference.com) to prevent some act that will harm to us , our environment and the living things on earth. If a developer want to develop a place. He or she must concern about the rules such as environmental assessment (EIA), AKTA PERHUTANAN NEGARA 1984 and so on.

Product- Product is a thing that produce by an actor. For example a complete building, bridge and a car.

Site- Site is a place where a product take place. It is consider to an actor where he or she want to allocate the product. For example an actor want to built a school beside the shopping complex therefore the site for the school is beside the shopping complex.
